Drive A
Hailing from Los Angeles California, the members of DRIVE A come together to forge a killer mix of pounding drums, lethal guitars, cascading bass lines and fierce vocals that converge to create a sound that pays respect to the past, stands up to the present and will kick down the door to the future. A switchblade to the soft, white underbelly of today's watered-down state of music, DRIVE A are pure, raw energy - on stage and in the studio. Jumping in a van, the band took their high-energy live show on the road, performing well over 100 shows in a span of 2 years including various stops on the 2008 Warped Tour, their own tour of the U.S., as well as sharing the stage with the likes of Rise Against, Pennywise and Billy Talent among others. 2009 saw the release of Drive A’s debut album, Loss Of Desire after linking up with Adrenaline/Dead Conflict records. Years removed from the blank generation, generations X and Y, and even generation next, Loss Of Desire picks up the flag for a new generation, their generation, which is being pushed to the brink. Themes of disillusionment, frustration and, at times, anger are perfectly captured on tracks such as “Everyone’s Alone,” “Can’t Sleep It Off,” “Are You Blind,” and “It’s Getting Worse.” The rest of 2009 Drive A spent supporting their record, opening up for Alkaline Trio, Set Your Goals on the Gig Life Tour, and concluded with Drive A hitting the road on a fall tour with The Used and The Almost. “Touring is the blood of this band, but our songs keep the heart beating” says Mascolo 2010 looks to be the busiest year yet for Drive A. The year jump-starts with a 30 date tour with the Used and Atreyu. Also, the band will release a deluxe version of “Loss of Desire” featuring 2 live tracks and 3 cover songs paying tribute to punk legends: The Clash, The Misfits and The Buzzcocks. The band anticipates spending most of 2010 on the road, we hope to see you soon.
